Book Recommendation: Belarus - The Last European Dictatorship by Andrew Wilson

I highly recommend the book Belarus: The Last European Dictatorship, by Andrew Wilson. Wilson is a professor of Ukrainian studies at University College London, and his book is one of the most comprehensive histories of Belarus from the Middle Ages to the present day. Originally published in 2011, Wilson published a new version in 2021 to cover the latest sham election. This book was instrumental to my understanding of Belarus as I wrote The Riddle of the Trees.
