The Atlantic has been doing some of the best reporting on the Russia's continuing threats to Eastern Europe. It just published another article in the genre of "how would it happen." In the article, Isaac Stanley-Becker discusses Lithuania's full societal preparation for a Russian attack, from the military down to the civilian level, and maps out how the war might unfold over the first months. It's a long article but well worth reading. (https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/2026/11/baltic-defense-russia/688692/)
